A Couple of Reminders

Keeping Ourselves Safe

This will be held this Thursday, 19th October, at 3.30 p.m.


Police Education Officer, Catherine Sell, will be talking to parents / caregivers about the ‘Keeping Ourselves Safe’ programme on Thursday, 19th October at 3.30 p.m. The meeting should last for approximately 20 minutes.  Supervision is available for children while the meeting takes place.


Book Fair

24th – 27th October 2017

The community are invited to visit the school library between 3.30-5.00 p.m. to view books and make purchases, if they wish, on Tuesday, 24th October.  Classes will visit during the week and children will bring home book wish lists for completion by parents.  Children can bring their grandparents on Friday.

Wednesday, 25th October – Fancy Dress Day.  The theme will be camping or your favourite book.

Friday Night              Social for ages 11-14 years                                                                                                 6.00 p.m. – 9.00 p.m.


Sunday                      Drop in and Social for ages 5-15 years                                                                              1.00 p.m. – 4.00 p.m.


The holiday programme Activity Fee is $2.00 per child.



Monday to Thursday


Be creative, get active, play or just chill out.

If you are coming for the day, bring a packed lunch or you can bring money for snacks, hot chips or a pie.

Parents please remember to fill out a Membership form for each child attending.

Friday Night Rules


All students must come into Hauraki House to sign in and can play in the park only until it gets dark.


Students are not allowed to go out of the park, play on the road or in the car parks on skateboards, scooters or bikes.


Students are not allowed to go down to the Creek unless we are playing spotlight.

Careers Expo permission slip

Dear Parents/Caregivers
The Thames Business, Careers an Volunteer Expo is being held in Thames on Wednesday 9th August. The Expo aims to represent the work, career and training opportunities that are available for young people living in the greater Coromandel area. Over 60 exhibitors will be present and able to talk with students about their future career aspirations.
We have the opportunity to take 24 students from years 10-13. Students wanting to attend are asked to return the permission slip below. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
We will leave from the school office car parking area at 10am and return to school by approximately 2:30pm. There is no cost associated with this trip. Students will need to wear full, correct school uniform and bring lunch and a drink.

Primary Assembly Dates

We invite all parents, family and caregivers to our fortnightly assemblies for year 1-6 children in the Library on Thursday afternoons at 2:15- below is the classroom running the assembly.
Term Three dates:
3 August: Room 5
17 August: Room 1
31 August: Room 2
14 September Room 3
28 September Room 4

The children are also working towards a ‘Musical Showcase’ for parents/whanau/friends to be held on Thursday 31st August.

Mufti Day

We will have a mufti day on Friday 4 August in support of Kids Can: a charity who supply us with shoes, food, tissues, medical supplies etc. No theme. Gold coin donation.

A Midwinter Christmas Day has been planned and organised by Angel Barham. Angel is a representative on our Coromandel Area School Student Council.

Details are as follows-

Theme: Red and Green/ Christmas
Years: 1 – 6
Date: 7 July 2017 (The last day of this term)
No cancellation- all activities will be transferred inside if the weather is challenging. Ten teams rotate around ten activities.

Four parents are needed to run an activity each. Please see your child’s teacher as soon as possible if you can help by running an activity from 9.00 to 12.45.
Sausage sizzle and juicies will be on sale for a dollar each.

Mates & Dates

Every Friday for one period each week starting on 9th June until the 7th July.

This programme will be delivered to all Year 9-13 students.  It is an ACC sponsored and approved programme promoting healthy relationships.
