School Values

After months of consultation & research, we are very proud to announce our new school values. The process of designing these has been very thorough, and we hope you can see your views and opinions shining through! Keep an eye out on the next newsletter and Chronicle to read the story behind the words!!!!! We do have an EPIC school!

The next step is working with you all to design the Maori translation of the values, and what those translations mean. This step is just as important to us, as designing the values to begin with. If you would be keen to help us ‘get this right’, then please contact the school, or reply to this post.

Note for parents

We are required to walk students to Greenhills Subdivision and back as part of our tsunami evacuation practice. We will be taking students out throughout the year so we can practice getting to our evacuation point safely. If you have any questions or concerns then please see your child’s teacher. All children and staff will be participating for Health and Safety reasons.

We will be participating in the New Zealand ShakeOut, our national earthquake drill and tsunami hīkoi, it is taking place on Thursday 18 October 2018 at 9:30 am. If you would like to help in the walk to Greenhills then let your child’s teacher know.

Change to current school uniform.

You spoke and we listened. Change to current school uniform. From now on all new enrollments for Year 7-10 will be asked to purchase a black/gold polo for their school top, instead of the current white shirt. All current Y7-10 students have the option to remain in the white shirt, or buy a new polo. The change will be phased in for current Y7-10 students, so that parents do not have to go and buy a new one right now. For a while there may be a mix of old and new tops being worn.
These polos are available at The Warehouse in Thames & the cost is:
Small – 2XL = $44.99
Size 8-16 = $39.99

All Y11-13 students are still required to wear the white shirt. This new uniform will identify our middle years students.
