Mufti Day 6th April 2018

Mufti Day this Friday (6th April) for the whole school and juices for sale. Gold coin donation for mufti to support Student Leadership initiatives.

First Wheelsday Big Success

On Friday 16 March we had our very first Wheelsday. Kids from years 1 through 5 were able to bring their choice of wheels – bicycles, scooters, skateboards, etc. while students from years 6-13 had a triathlon in the afternoon.

Two courses were marked out – one shorter course over paved tracks and a longer one around the large sports fields.

The day started with a briefing and a safety briefing and vehicle check by Dylan from the local Police. Then the kids walked the two course before they finally set off to ride them. Except for a few minor crashes due to excessive speed everyone had a lot of fun.

Overall it was a great event that emphasised health, safety, teamwork, and simply just the fun of riding on your wheels. No doubt Wheelsday will become a firm component of the school year.

Be a part of the CAS Sports Council

CAS is setting up a Sports Council that will look to meet on a monthly basis, starting with an initial meeting on Thursday 5th April, 6.00pm, in the School Library.

This groups main focus will be on developing & promoting a vision for sport at CAS for the next five years.  This will allow us to set annual aims and objectives that align with CAS values, promote participation, build on our successes, and increase pride in representing our school.

Postponed Senior Swimming Sports Day 2018

We have postponed the Senior Swimming Sports day that was on this Friday (16th February). The new date will be out tomorrow. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Free Books in Schools with the Kellogg’s promotion

Whaea Jamie has signed up to the Free Books in Schools with the Kellogg’s promotion. If you shop at New World and purchase a Kellogg product, then you can go online and select our school. This nomination / selection gives our school “a point” and every point counts towards our school receiving free books from Penguin (at the end of the promo in March).
